They Are Already Ruins

It seems that we have lost control of the situation and ourselves.
T.V. speaks and our mouths they move and our heads nod to what these systems do.

Our frigid limbs cold/calculated sit so still, but itch for resistance.
The barricades have pacified. Check your status to see if you're still alive.

Of course we want to win this war. Battle stations: occupied.
But life is lived in these trenches, so deep we lose our perspective.
Our voice is better than a bomb when we're arm in arm in arm with comrades.
These little lives that we have led could not have been any better.

Our voices so silent but we all want to scream.
We mumble curses at each other never noticing
our passion's dissipated, we've stomped each other's out
but our future's stuck up in those strangers help stand them up and shout
WHOA OH!
fill your lungs with fire, 'til blisters start to shape
the flames we spit shine light upon our common bonded fate
those folks they sound like us, with a pulsing shackled voice
the disempowered need to know that they they are not alone,
WHOA OH!

Of course we want to win this war.
Battle stations: occupied.
But life is lived in these trenches,
so deep we lose our perspective.
Our voice is better than a bomb when we're arm in arm in arm with comrades.
These little lives that we have led could not have been any better.

I'd rather die up here, microphone in hand,
singing about justice in a land of sycophants.
Sure it may be futile, this i will admit,
but as long as there's a chance in this hell of people joining in,
I'll whoa ohh.

In those last few moments, we'll know we gave it all we could:
the songs we sung, the streets we took, the havoc that we caused.
In their ruins dancing, our friends side by side,
i'll be content to stand in front that firing squad and chant:
whoa OH!

Ya Están las Ruinas (They Are Already Ruins)
